Clu was found and destroyed by the Master Control Program. Flynn created another program named CLU after returning from the Grid with a more specific task in mind...

Bit

Allies: Kevin Flynn

In the early TRON system, Flynn was accompanied by Bit, a very simple guide in the digital world. Bit's function was to give "yes" or "no" answers to Flynn's inquiries. It was not always reliable.

Crom

Crom was a compound interest program from a savings-and-loan who firmly believed in the Users as almost god-like figures who commanded their programs. Crom was introduced to Kevin Flynn and Ram while reluctantly awaiting his turn in the Grid Games. Sadly, Crom was derezzed during a game with Flynn, revealing that the virtual world was cold, calculating and dangerous.

Dumont

Dumont was the Grid's Input-Output Tower guardian who controlled access to communication with Users in the real world. He agreed to help Tron communicate with Alan Bradley, but it came at a price.

Master Control Program

Enemies: Kevin Flynn (in and out of The Grid), Yori, Tron, Dumont

More widely referred to as the MCP, the Master Control Program was a despotic program that ruled the Grid with an iron fist during the Ed Dillinger years at ENCOM while it reached beyond the main frame of ENCOM to gain power and control over the world's data systems.

Ram

An accounting Program forced to compete on the Game Grid who becomes Kevin Flynn's friend and ally. Ram and Crom met Kevin Flynn while awaiting their turns in the games.

Sark

The security program working for the Master Control Program, who forces Kevin Flynn to compete in the Game Grid. Sark, a program written by Ed Dillinger, looked very much like its user.

Tron

Tron was a security program created by his user, Alan Bradley, to ensure the Master Control Program (MCP) ? a fully aware program at ENCOM -- was functioning normally, correctly, and within the rules of its programming. Obviously, Tron discovered the MCP was breaking the rules and threatening the system. With the help of program pals Yori and Kevin Flynn, he took on the powerful MCP and won by derezzing him with a virus and returned the digital world to a flourishing, free system.
